I Don't Want to Be Normal Today

I was sitting in my gated million-dollar home when I wrote the post below.

I'd spent my life trying to "look the part" and please others. And then, I grew. I changed.

Beginning my own heroines' journey, I faced many difficulties. Giving things away was not problematic. That felt like freedom. The hard thing was dealing with those who did not want me to change. When I took away things I did for them that I would never do again, I threatened their way of life.

So they fought to keep me. And when I say "fought", I mean literally. With words and actions that intended to keep me dependent on them.

Ask yourself why people fight so hard to oppress others.

It's because people are valuable and have something others want. Our history with slavery is an example of this. Slave owners fought to keep free labor that made them wealthy.

But there are many other stories of people who have fought to regain their personal empowerment.

The evolution of one's soul, your essential self, can not be kept. Not by others or your own thoughts or your perceived limitations.

No matter what you think your prison to be--you will be set free.

The process of believing in your worth, and choosing how you want to use it, is the work.
